Let’s talk mindset
Mindset is a bit of a jargon-y word.
It’s one of those words that is handed out quite freely in day-to-day conversation, but do you really understand what it means and the influence it has on everything that you do?
In essence it is the setting of your mind.
A setting built from your habits, beliefs, values, attitudes, and ideas that are your way of filtering and thinking about the real world.
It determines the actions you take, how you think about things and who you believe yourself to be (or not to be).
It is your autopilot for all of your habitual behaviour and habitual thinking. And here’s the kicker…up to 98% of everything you do every day is habitual.
What does this mean for how you create results in work and life?
The setting of your mind sets the boundary for everything you will ever accomplish. That’s why I refer to it as your success setting.
Now, this setting will be different for different parts of your life, but it is the upper limit of what you will ever achieve.
This means your results will keep aligning with the setting of your mind. You may temporarily change your actions or have an incremental improvement in your results, but if you want meaningful change that:
- Stops the cycle of self-sabotage
- Creates bigger leaps in your results, and
- Sticks around permanently
You MUST start with changing your mind in 5 key ways:
- Removing a limiting belief
- Giving up a story that is preventing you from moving forward
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more supportive ones
- Creating a new blueprint for who you think you are
- Upgrading your attitude to your goals and success
Summary
There is ONLY one way to permanently change your results.
It is always an inside job that starts with changing your mind.
Only when you upgrade your success setting can you upgrade your results in work and in life.
People often think that working on their mind can wait…but can it?
This article outlines why the only way to change your results is to change your mind. Feel free to drop me an email if you want some clarity on how changing your success setting can close the gap between where you are now and where you want to be, I would love to hear from you.
